My Approach
I was sitting in my parents kitchen looking through the photos from their wedding and I was struck by the timelessness and intentionality in those few film shots. And that’s exactly how I want you to feel when you look back on your wedding day gallery. Hence why I offer film and super8. The photos that are often treasured are the ones that capture authentic emotion, and that is what I pursue. Through fluid prompts, genuine laughter, and movement, you'll see your story comes alive through photos.

This is the most important day of your life, and the security of the system is important! I shoot on a newer model camera with a dual slot which means every photos I take duplicates on two sd cards at all times. When I get home, I upload photos to an external hard drive and a cloud storage system. Until your photos are delivered, I keep your photos on three different systems at all times so if one fails, its annoying but not the end of the world.

You love their Instagram but then you get your photos back and they don't look like what you thought they would, sound relatable? Yes, there is absolutely going to be diversity in creative direction and editing, but here are some core things you should look for so you don't end up in this situation.
Look at edited skin tones in all different lightings (indoor, outdoor, cloudy, flash). Are they consistent and natural looking?
Look at greens and yellows- these are often the trickiest and most reflective of that photographers editing style. Every photo will have greens/yellows in it and the way those are edited make a huge difference.

Ask for real wedding galleries and please don't feel bad or embarrassed about asking!
These will help you see into the way a photographer captures a day through their lens. A full gallery will tell you more than reading a website or talking to a photographer ever will.

I understand the annoyance of feeling like every wedding vendor ever wants to hop on a call with you. While I am not necessarily endorsing a call with every single vendor, I think getting on a call with your photographer is a non-negotiable. They are with you more than anyone else on your day and have a huge impact on the stress levels and enjoyment you feel throughout your wedding. A call is a quick and easy way to vibe check and although not fool proof, it's SO helpful.

I want you to feel supported from your first email to the final gallery delivery.
I value clear communication and want couples to feel comfortable and familiar with my booking and shooting process. I do this in part by communicating next steps clearly in my first call and using a site that has everything in one portal (contract, invoicing, questionnaire, etc.).
I always tell my couples that this is the first (and most likely only) time that they will plan a wedding, but I have walked through the intricacies of the wedding world/day many many times, so let me be a resource! As one of your vendors, I want to link hands with you as you plan & execute your dream wedding.
